at THE MERCANTILE LIBRARY
MAY 6th, 2016 : 6pm - 8pm
( Doors open at 5:30 and lecture promptly starts at 6pm followed by tasting of 4 wines. )
The Hirsch Vineyards, out on the chilly far reaches of the Sonoma Coast, have been providing fruit to some of the biggest names in California Pinot for the last 30 years, including Littorai and Williams Selyem. In addition to David Hirsch's mission to sell stellar fruit, he also wanted to make site-specific wine. This was his dream: to ensure that his own family's name was included in the telling of America's resurgence in the fine wine world. With a philosophy centered on terroir and honest farming. Hirsch has done just that, solidifying his place in history and his family’s legacy.
The evening will entail a wine tasting and passionate dialogue between wine consultant and sommelier, Kevin Hart and David Hirsch’s daughter, Jasmine. She and her brother have been slowly taking the reins of their father’s renowned vineyards, and Jasmine now serves as General Manager of the estate, and travels extensively to share her energetic story and to tirelessly promote her family’s story.
Hirsch Vineyards have been written about in
national news outlets such as : WALL STREET JOURNAL, NEW YORK TIMES, SFGATE. Also featured in WINE ENTHUSIAST, FOOD& WINE and WINE SPECTATOR.
